There was a time when Becky and Darcy Clark thought they would never get the chance to buy their own house.
Both in their 30s and faced with an increasingly turbulent property market, the couple believed home ownership was out of their reach and that they were destined to rent forever.
But then they were introduced to Highland Walloon.

Today, they are set to be proud owners of a home and land package that will deliver a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house on a large 420sqm block – all for under $750,000.
The couple, who are building with Torsion Homes, are looking forward to moving to our fledgling community in early 2026, along with their fur baby, Zeus.
Becky said she was excited to finally own a home.
“We honestly never thought we would be able to afford our own house, but at Highland Walloon it is definitely possible,” she said.
“It’s amazing to think that we will soon have a four-bedroom home with tons of room and can do our own landscaping. It’s great to finally be on the property ladder.”
The couple, who were eligible for the State Government’s First Home Owner Grant, are currently renting in Raceview, Ipswich.
Darcy works at RAAF Base Amberley, which is a short 12-minute drive southeast of Highland Walloon, and Becky’s commute is an easy train ride to Brisbane CBD, where she works for the Federal Government.
“We love how Highland Walloon has so much open space and a rural, countryside feel, and yet is so close to the city,” said Becky.
“It’s lovely to have the best of both worlds. We can enjoy the peace and quiet at home but are also well connected to everything when we want to get out and about.”
The couple thanked the team at Highland Walloon for helping them realise their home ownership dream, as well as their mortgage broker Megan at ZM Financial Group, and property expert Daniel at My New Place.
